Why this camp?
- Train twice a day, surf between sessions, spend a week in the Caribbean with a small group.
- The camp is held by Tribu in a beautiful beach area called Encuentro Beach, near Cabarete, on the north coast of the Dominican Republic.
- Everything is taken care of. You just show up and train.
Who teaches it?
Jonathan ''JT'' Torres

JT Torres (Jonathan Torres) is one of the top American Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athletes, best known for being a 2× ADCC World Championship champion (2017, 2019), the highest level in no-gi grappling.
He trained under Marcelo Garcia, which shaped his style—tight, efficient, and fundamentals-driven. JT isn’t flashy; he wins through control, smart positioning, and high-level strategy, especially with his guard passing and pressure.
He now runs Essential Jiu-Jitsu in New York, where he coaches both competitors and everyday students.
